HELMUT LANG JEANS

SEEN BY PRISCILLIA SAADA

For Pre-fall 2026, Helmut Lang worked with Paris-based photographer Priscilla Saada to capture how denim integrates into the love story of her close friends, Monika Tatalovic and Ralph Denman. Intertwining on the couch, grazing legs on a park bench, undressing together after a long day—the photos explore the everyday intimacy between the couple as they wear their jeans.

PRISCILLIA: In many ways, I see a parallel between love and denim. Both evolve with time. Both soften, adapt, and bear the marks of lived experience. Like a well-worn pair of jeans, love becomes part of us. I am interested in the banality of love, not as something ordinary or insignificant, but as something constant, familiar, and essential. Its beauty lies in repetition, in comfort, and in the quiet rituals of everyday life.

“FOR THIS HELMUT LANG DENIM CAMPAIGN, I WANTED TO EXPLORE THESE IDEAS THROUGH THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MONIKA AND RALPH. PHOTOGRAPHING TWO PEOPLE WHO ARE GENUINELY IN LOVE FELT ESSENTIAL.”

- PRISCILLIA SAADA

PRISCILLIA: Alongside the photographs, I introduced a series of phrases intended to create moments of recognition. They reflect the tenderness, vulnerability, and occasional absurdity that accompany love, approaching the subject with sincerity while leaving room for humor.

“IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR THE WORK TO REMAIN GROUNDED IN LIVED EXPERIENCE, CELEBRATING NOT ONLY THE ROMANCE OF LOVE, BUT ALSO ITS CONTRADICTIONS, IMPERFECTIONS, AND EVERYDAY POETRY.”

Priscillia:

“I WAS FASCINATED BY THE WAY THEY HOLD ONE ANOTHER, HOW THEIR BODIES INTERTWINE AND GRADUALLY DISSOLVE INTO A SHARED FORM.”

THE MORE, THE MERRIER - MONIKA, PARIS, 2026

PRISCILLIA: Beyond the intimacy of the gesture, I was interested in the sculptural and almost abstract qualities that emerge when two bodies meet. In these moments, the body becomes more than a body; it becomes a composition of lines, volumes, tensions, and softness. The images move between intimacy and abstraction, revealing not only a couple, but a living form shaped by connection, trust, and desire.

WHAT A DAY! - RALPH, PARIS, 2026

PRISCILLIA: Love has always been an important subject to me. I am drawn to its sensuality, the touch, the closeness, the silent language shared between two people. To love someone is to allow yourself to be seen completely, in moments of tenderness as much as vulnerability, awkwardness, and imperfection. It is this honesty that interests me most.
